Ordinary extinguishing agents can react violently with burning metal. This unit uses a sodium chloride-based dry powder that cakes over the burning metal under heat, excluding air and dissipating heat from the fire — effective on magnesium, sodium, potassium and sodium-potassium alloy fires. For lithium, zirconium, uranium, titanium and powdered aluminium fires, the same platform is available charged with Ternary Eutectic Chloride (TEC) powder instead. Supplied with hose and applicator for controlled, close-range application.
